Every waymark points somewhere, but not always forwards.
Trails Play is the independent game studio of TRAILS-AI LTD in London. We design gentle walking puzzles for Android set on imaginary footpaths that wind over hills and along coastal cliffs.
Each trail is marked with simple waymarks. Players read the signs, choose a direction at every stile and gate, and try to reach the viewpoint before the light fades.
Routes branch and rejoin, and some waymarks only make sense once a later clue has been found, so careful observation matters more than speed. A wrong turn simply loops back to the last junction, and a small sketchbook records every path the player has tried.
The trails are inspired by British national walking routes but are entirely fictional. They are drawn in soft watercolour, with grazing sheep under changing skies, and accompanied by birdsong and wind recorded on real walks.
There are no timers and nothing to buy. Each walk takes about ten minutes, and finished trails can be revisited to look for hidden shortcuts and the rarer waymarks tucked into the scenery. New regions are added as they are drawn, each with its own weather and wildlife.
Every waymark points somewhere, but not always forwards.
Pick a path at each stile, gate and fork.
Reach the viewpoint and add the walk to the sketchbook.
Trail games released for Android will be mapped here.
